서울국제음식영화제

영화에서 음식은 종종 성적 욕망이나 행위, 심리, 성에 대한 태도와 사고 및 이를 규정하는 사회적 제도나 관습을 포괄하는 섹슈얼리티를 다양한 방식으로 드러내고 재현하는 요소로 활용되곤 한다. 이번 포럼은 올해 서울국제음식영화제의 특별전 '에로스와 타나토스 사이'와 연계된 주제 토크로, 마르코 페레리 감독의 <그랜드 뷔페>(1973), 피터 그리너웨이 감독의 <요리사, 도둑, 그의 아내 그리고 그녀의 정부>(1989), 박철수 감독의 <301 302>(1995) 등 3편의 극영화와 수잔 피트 감독의 단편 애니메이션 <아스파라거스에 관한 에로틱 판타지>까지, 4편의 특별전 상영작을 중심으로 성과 죽음, 에로스와 타나토스의 경계를 오가는 영화 속 음식과 섹슈얼리티의 재현 및 그 상관 관계를 돌아본다.

In movies, food is often used as an element that reveals or represents sexuality in various ways; sexual desires and behaviors, psychology, and the social institutions and customs that define them. Designed in relation to this year's special program 'In Focus 2022: Between Eros and Thanatos', which will showcase Marco Ferreri's La Grande Bouffe (1973), Peter Greenaway's The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989), Park Chul-soo's Three-Oh-One, Three-Oh-Two (1995), and Susan Pitt's short animation Asparagus (1979), this forum will provide an opportunity to discuss about the representation of food and sexuality in film, which often includes exploration into the desire of life and death.
