올해 특별전에서는 애니메이션 특유의 상상력 가득한 이미지와 스토리텔링, 재치와 풍자가 어우러진 다양한 작품들 을 통해 애니메이션 속 음식 스토리텔링 및 재현을 돌아본다. <라따뚜이><하늘에서 음식이 내린다면>이 음식 애니 메이션의 고전이라면, 전통적인 위스키를 되살리려는 이들의 이야기를 담은 <코마다: 위스키 패밀리>, 이탈리아계 프랑스 이민자 가족의 역사와 삶을 재구성한 <개와 이탈리아인 출입금지>는 각각 올해와 작년 안시국제애니메이션 페스티벌에서 화제를 모은 신작들이다. ‘월레스와 그로밋’ 시리즈와 영국 애니메이션 명가 아드만의 닉 파크, 미국 독 립애니메이션의 대가 빌 플림턴, 캐나다의 대표적인 독립 단편애니메이션 듀오 웬디 틸비와 아만다 포비스 등 애니 메이션 역사에서 회자되는 거장들의 단편 작품들도 만날 수 있다.

This section presents classic and new animated films that combine vivid imagination, storytelling, wit, and satire unique to animation, with a focus on food representation. The selection includes classics of food animation such as Ratatouille and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, as well as recently buzzed-about works such as Komada - A Whiskey Family and No Dogs or Italians Allowed which were screened at Annecy International Animation Festival. Animated shorts of acclaimed directors such as Nick Park, Bill Plympton, Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis will be also screened to explore the aesthetics of food-related imagination, storytelling and representation in animated
