시놉시스Synopsis
오스트리아의 운동가 데이비드 그로스는 세계적으로 먹을거리의 1/3이 쓰레기통에 버려지는 현실을 바꾸고자 하나의 실험을 시작한다. 쓰레기 컨테이너를 개조한 미니 주방을 연결한 차를 타고, 폐식용유를 연료 삼아 5주 동안 유럽 5개국을 다니며 버려지는 음식으로만 끼니를 해결하는 여정에 나선 것이다. 소비 지상주의 사회에서 얼마나 많은 음식이 낭비되고 있는지를 보여주는 한편, 셰프, 과학자, 운동 단체 등 다양한 사람들을 통해 음식 낭비의 실태를 개선하려는 노력과 실천 방법을 담아내는 로드무비. 2015년 암스테르담국제다큐멘터리영화제에서 상영됐다.
A car that runs on used vegetable oil, a mobile stove and a host of culinary ideas in his backpack: Wastecooking – Make Food, Not Waste is an entertaining road movie detailing a journey through five European countries, where the only thing on the menu is what others call garbage. David Gross, the host of this film, whips up creative meals aimed at fighting food waste and our consumption-driven society, and at the same time inspires us to search for creative solutions.
감독Director
사운드 엔지니어로 영화경력을 시작했으며 이후 영국 스털링대학교에서 영화와 미디어를, 영국국립영화학교에서 다큐멘터리 제작을 전공했다. 감독이자 프로듀서로 영국 BBC, 채널4, 아르떼 등 의 유럽 방송국을 위해 다큐멘터리를 연출했으며 작품 중에서 3편의 장편은 오스트리아와 독일 그리고 미국에서 극장 개봉되었다. 2002년 자신의 제작사를 설립한 후 작업을 이어오고 있으며, 녹음기사로도 여전히 활동 중이다. 2004년부터는 비엔나대학교에서 영화사운드 과정의 책임자로 일하고 있다.
Georg MISCH started his career in film began as a sound engineer, he then studied Film and Media at the University of Stirling and documentary direction at the British National Film and Television School. As a director and producer he has made films for the BBC, Channel4, ARTE and several other European TV stations and three of his feature length documentaries have had theatrical releases in Austria, Germany and the US. In 2002 he founded Mischief Films together with Ralph WIESER. He occasionally still works as a sound recordist and since 2004 he is the head of the film sound course at the University of Vienna.
