시놉시스Synopsis
바비큐는 문명보다 앞선 발상으로, 우리의 네안데르탈인 조상들이 산불의 잿더미에서 꺼낸 검게 그을린 동물들의 잔해를 먹던 시절에 시작됐다. 수백만 년에 걸쳐 인류는 불 위에서 요리하는 기술을 터득했다. 고대 로마인에서 몽골인, 아프리카인으로부터 아메리카 원주민에 이르기까지 이 기술은 오랜 시간이 흐르면서 진화해 왔고 미국인들이 BBQ라고 부르는 것이 되었다.
Barbecue is an idea that predates civilization to a time when our Neanderthal ancestors were eating the charred remains of animals pulled from the ashes of a forest fire. Over millions of years humans have figured out how to master that art of cooking over fire. From the romans, to the Mongols, from Africans to Native Americans this technique has evolved time after time to what Americans now call BBQ.
감독Director
미국 아칸소주 출신으로 아칸소주립대학에서 방송 저널리즘 전공, 원예학 부전공으로 학사 학위를 취득했고 다큐멘터리 제작 과정으로 석사를 마쳤다. 재학 시절 만든 영화 <Homeless in Boomtown>으로 지역 에미상을 수상했으며, 그의 작품들은 국내외 여러 영화제들에서 상영되기도 했다. 최근작으로는 패션 표준의 재정립에 힘쓰는 노스웨스트 아칸소 패션 위크의 노력을 담은 장편 <Beautiful People>과 바비큐의 진화에 대한 단편 다큐멘터리가 있다.
Arkansas Native, Shane White holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Horticulture and Master of Arts in documentary filmmaking from the University of Arkansas. Shane is also a Regional Emmy Award recipient for his student film 'Homeless in Boomtown' and has shown other work in festivals, both domestic and international. Shane's most recent work is a feature length film titled <Beautiful People>, which highlights the efforts of the Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week to redefine fashion standards and a short documentary film on the evolution of BBQ
