시놉시스Synopsis

호주의 위대한 요리사들의 눈을 통해서 살펴본 현대 호주 음식에 관한 이야기. 호주에서 음식 분야의 전설로 불리며 호주 사람들의 주방에 혁신을 일으킨 선구자로 손꼽히는 마거릿 풀턴의 회고를 통해 현대 호주 음식의 진정한 역사를 되돌아보는 다큐멘터리이다. 1940년대와 50년대의 고기와 세 가지 채소, 60년대의 파스타, 70년대의 퐁듀, 80년대의 연어 무스와 같이 한 시대를 풍미했던 요리 트렌드부터 세계의 입맛을 완전히 바꿔놓은 새로운 세대의 호주 셰프들에 이르기까지, 70여 년의 세월 동안 직접 경험한 호주 음식의 변천사를 마거릿 풀턴 여사가 생생하게 들려주고, 다양한 아카이브 자료와 셰프들의 인터뷰가 덧붙여져 흥미를 더한다. 스테파니 알렉산더, 닐 페리, 청 리우, 대미언 피뇰레, 크리스틴 맨필드, 조지 칼롬바리스, 섀넌 베넷, 캐런 마티니 등 호주를 대표하는 유명 셰프들이 줄지어 등장해서 각자의 음식에 관한 추억, 음식을 향한 열정, 롤모델, 그리고 오늘날 호주인들의 식생활에 마거릿 풀턴이 끼친 영향에 대해서 이야기한다. 지난 7월 24일, 94세를 일기로 세상을 떠난 마거릿 풀턴 여사를 기리며 상영된다.

The story of modern Australian food through the eyes of its great cooks and chefs. This documentary is an authentic history of modern Australian food through the recollections of Australian food legend Margaret Fulton, a pioneer of the Australian kitchen. From the meat and three veg of the 1940's and 50's, to the pasta of the 60's, the fondue of the 70's, the salmon mousse of the 80's, to the generation of Australian chef's that have changed the world's taste buds forever. Featuring a roll-call of the best of Australia's chefs including Stephanie Alexander, Neil Perry, Cheong Liew, Damien Pignolet, Christine Manfield, George Calombaris, Shannon Bennett, and Karen Martini, as they share their food memories; their passion for food; their food heroes; and the influence of Margaret Fulton on how we eat today. The film is screened in memory of Margaret Fulton, the first and greatest of the Australian celebrity cookery writers, who passed away on July 24th, 2019 at the age of 94.
