시놉시스Synopsis
2015년 1월, 도쿄. 세계 최고의 레스토랑인 노마의 오너셰프 르네 레드제피는 직원 모두와 함께 레스토랑을 도쿄의 만다린 오리엔탈 호텔로 옮겨서 8주 동안 특별하고 창의적인 메뉴를 선보이기로 한다. 레드제피의 명성에 걸맞게 8주간의 점심과 저녁 식사는 일찌감치 모두 예약이 마감되었다. 레드제피는 「타임」지가 세계에서 가장 영향력 있는 100인 중 한 명으로 선정할 만큼 성공한 셰프지만, 도쿄에서 ‘일본의 영향을 받은’ 14 코스메뉴를 만들어내는 것은 그의 셰프 경력에 있어서 가장 어려운 도전이다.
Tokyo - January 2015: The world’s number one restaurant, the Copenhagen based Noma and its renowned chef-owner René Redzepi relocate the restaurant and its entire staff to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Tokyo for eight sold-out weeks of spectacular lunches and dinners with specially created menus. René Redzepi, who was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine, runs one of the planet’s most successful restaurants, but for him to succeed in creating a 14-course ‘Japanese influenced’ meal in Tokyo, Japan, he has to put all of that aside and reinvent himself on the other side of the world.

Maurice Dekkers is an Amsterdam based journalist, filmmaker, and entrepreneur. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Arts, he produced and directed, with his company DAHL, the food-related, award winning TV series, Kwuringsdienst van Waarde. The show became one ofthe most popular programs on Dutch television with more than 250 episodes. Dekkers’ TV series Tony and the Chocolate Factory about child slavery in the cocoa industry led to the creation of a 100% slave-free chocolate bar called Tony’s Chocolonely and it is now the biggest chocolate brand in the Netherlands. Ants on a Shrimp is his first feature documentary.
