달팽이의 속도처럼 느리게, 그러나 지난 25년 동안 꾸준히 지속돼 온 ‘느린 혁명’에 대한 영화. 테라 마드레의 창시자로도 알려진 카를로 페트리니는 1986년 이탈리아에서 이 혁명의 기반을 다진 아르치골라란 단체를 만들고, 3년 뒤 파리에서 슬로푸드 운동을 선언한다. 슬로푸드는 대량생산과 규격화, 산업화에 따른 맛의 획일화와 패스트푸드에 저항하며, 각 지역 음식 문화의 전통을 이어가고 지속가능한 먹을거리를 지향하는 운동으로 현대의 음식 문화에 큰 변화를 가져 왔다.
This is the story of a slow revolution at a snail’s pace. One that’s been going on now for 25 years and still shows no signs of coming to a stop. Carlo Petrini, better known as “Carlìn”, is the man who invented Slow Food and Terra Madre. In 1986, Carlìn founded the ArciGola gastronomic association in Italy and, three years later in Paris, launched Slow Food, an international anti-fast food resistance movement. Without ever leaving his native Bra, a small town of 27,000 inhabitants, he has created a movement that now spans 150 countries and has transformed gastronomy forever.

Born in Bra in 1972, he has written a number of film treatments and screenplays. He is currently working on 1992, a series for Sky Italia, created in collaboration with Ludovica Rampoldi and Alessandro Fabbri. Together with Rampoldi and Fabbri, he has also written the American remake of La Doppia Ora (The Double Hour) for Fox Searchlight and Il Ragazzo Invisibile (The Invisible Boy), to be directed by Gabriele Salvatores. An expert on cinema and food, he was the director of Slow Food on Film, an international festival held in Bologna in 2008-9. Since 1996 he has been the director of Corto in Bra, an international short film festival.
