시놉시스Synopsis
아버지가 딸에게 수타면을 만드는 전통 기술을 가르친다. 중국의 전통 음식과 음악을 절묘하게 조합한 이 영화는 세대를 이어 전해지는 전통과 문화를 보여준다. 국수 가락과 악기의 현을 연결시키면서 중국 문화와 공예의 아름다움을 강조하는 시적 몽타쥬 속에서 아버지와 딸의 은근한 정도 표현된다.
A father teaches his daughter the ancient art of hand pulled noodles. 'Pulled Strings' is a short film that blends together traditional Chinese food and music, demonstrating the passing down of culture and traditions between generations. Exploring the intricate connection between the strands of the noodles with the strings of the instruments, it creates a poetic montage that emphasizes the beauty of Chinese craft and culture, and the unspoken relationship between a father and his daughter.

최근 주목받는 중국계 캐나다 출신 예술가로 캐나다 캘거리에서 나고 자랐다. 알버타 주 공립 예술대학의 미디어아트, 디지털 테크놀로지를 뛰어난 성적으로 졸업하고, 현재는 EMMEDIA 갤러리&프러덕션 소사이어티에서 프로그래밍 디렉터로 활동하고 있다.
Vicki Van Chau is an emerging Chinese-Canadian artist born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She graduated with distinction from the Alberta College of Art + Design in Media Arts + Digital Technologies, and is currently the Programming Director at EMMEDIA Gallery & Production Society, a non-profit media arts organization.
