시놉시스Synopsis
영화감독이자 음식 애호가인 젠과 그랜트는 농장에서 소매점을 거쳐 냉장고로 이어지는 음식물 쓰레기 문제를 파고 든다. 북미 지역에서만 매년 수십억 달러 어치의 음식이 버려지는 것을 알게 된 둘은 식료품을 사지 않고 버려지게 된 음식으로만 생활해보기로 한다. <먹을래? 먹을래!>는 유통기한, 완벽한 제품, 상품의 규격 등 우리 사회의 시스템 강박을 면밀히 들여다 봄으로써, 겉보기엔 사소해 보였던 문제들이 전세계적으로 야기하고 있는 파괴적인 결과를 고발한다.Filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of food waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. After catching a glimpse of the billions of dollars of good food that is tossed each year in North America, they pledge to quit grocery shopping and survive only on discarded food. Just Eat It looks at our systemic obsession with expiry dates, perfect produce and portion sizes, and reveals the core of this seemingly insignificant issue that is having devastating consequences around the globe.

감독이자 촬영 감독, 편집자이며 현재 밴쿠버에 거주하고 있다. 최근에는 BBC의 플래닛어스 팀과 함께 작업하며 <Fractured Land>, <Koneline: Our Land Beautiful>, <Metamorphosis> 등의 촬영에 참여하였다. 다큐멘터리 데뷔작 <The Clean Bin Project>는 9곳의 영화제에서 수상했으며, 두 번째 작품인 <먹을래? 먹을래!>는 2014년 핫독스에서 프리미어로 소개되었다.
Grant BALDWIN is an award-winning director, cinematographer and editor based in Vancouver. In addition to directing, Grant’s recent cinematography work includes working with the BBC Planet Earth team and on the docs Fractured Land, Koneline: Our Land Beautiful and Metamorphosis. Grant’s first documentary The Clean Bin Project won 9 festival awards and has screened around the world. His second film Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story premiered at Hot Docs in 2014.
