시놉시스Synopsis
28살 청년 랄리트는 아주 특별한 사람에게 커밍아웃을 하기로 결심한다. 성적 정체성을 드러냈을 때 받아들여지기를 바라며, 그는 유명 라디오 요리 프로그램에 나오는 요리법을 따라 벵갈 스타일의 생선 커리를 만든다. 그 특별한 이의 마음을 움직일 만큼 생선커리가 맛있게 완성될까?
Lalit, 28, decides to come-out to someone who is really special and close to him. In order to reveal his sexuality and seek acceptance, he cooks a special dish, a Bengali style fish curry, ’Maacher Jhol’. He prepares the dish by listening to a famous radio cooking show. Will the fish curry turn out to be the delicious? Delicious enough to appeal to the heart of someone special?
감독Director
뉴델리에서 주로 활동하고 있는 독립 애니메이터이자 영화제작자이다. 타이포그래피, 실험적인 내러티브, 전통적인 애니메이션, 스크린 라이팅, 일러스트 등에 관심이 있다. 그의 첫 단편 애니메이션인 <Chasni>은 10개의 상을 수상했으며 자그레브애니메이션페스티벌을 포함하여 37개 이상의 영화제에서 상영되었다. 두번째 작품인 <생선 커리>는 안시, 자그레브 등지에서 상영 예정이다. 그의 다음 준비하고 있는 작품은 장편 애니메이션 <Dog Is God>(가제)이다.
Abhishek Verma is an independent animator and filmmaker. He is currently based in New Delhi. He has a special interest in typography, experimental narrative, traditional animation, screen writing and illustration. His first animation short film Chasni (The Sugar Syrup) won more 10 awards and has been screened in over 37+ festivals including Animafest Zagreb. His second animated film Maacher Jhol (The Fish Curry) is going to have its screening in international Animation festivals such as Anncey, Zagreb. His upcoming film is an animated feature length film, tentatively called as Dog Is God.
